Lake Naivasha Country Club

The old colonial architecture of Lake Naivasha Country Club is solid and comfortable with accommodation in rooms and cottages set in 12 hectares of green lawns shaded by mature acacias and spreading fever trees. The public rooms are elegant and cool. The residents' lounge has a massive fireplace and large bay windows. The bar is cosy and adjoins an immaculately equipped snooker room.

Lake Naivasha is the focus of activity. There is good fishing for black bass and tilapia and a boat trip during the day is recommended for a close-up of Naivasha's remarkable variety of birdlife and its hippo colonies. You can see the lake in a different light on a romantic sundowner boat trip which combines a sumptuous sunset with exotic drinks. A visit to Crescent Island should not be missed. It is one of the few places in Africa where you can wander on foot among herds of antelope as there are no predators here.

Naivasha is one of the world's outstanding birding places with over 300 species on display. Three bird walks a day are offered in the grounds of the country club. There is a swimming pool and conference facilities for up to 50 people.
