Scheduled vs. Tailor-made Safaris
When you’re planning a safari with us, there are two ways you can go about it. Browse our site and select an itinerary from one of our scheduled tours, or decide where you want to go and what you want to see and experience, and we’ll put together a tailor-made safari just for you.
Scheduled Safaris
All the itineraries on our website are scheduled safaris. These tours depart on fixed dates or day of the week on a set itinerary, with a minimum of two passengers and a maximum of 7. You’re guaranteed a window seat in the vehicle.
Pros
Scheduled tours are usually the most affordable safari option and they are excellent value for money.
The itineraries offer the most tried and trusted routes, so you are guaranteed to see the main safari highlights.
These itineraries operate on multiple days of the week, and we generally have allocation, so you have a good chance of getting availability on these trips.
These itineraries are great for single travellers who want to meet up and travel with other people.
If you are traveling in a group of between 6 and 7 people, you will have the vehicle to yourself. However, if you are traveling in a large group, you may find a tailor-made safari slightly more cost-effective and a great deal more flexible.
Cons
It’s important that you know that the itineraries are set and cannot be changed at all.
Single travellers can’t book these tours unless there are already other passengers on the tour, as the tours won’t depart with less than 2 people.
Travel distances can be long and the roads (especially in Kenya) are not always good. Most scheduled safaris travel by road and don’t offer the comforts and convenience of fly-in safaris.
