For those seeking a spectacular safari full of variety, this trip takes you from a permanent tented camp on the rim of Africa's Great Rift Valley, to the Serengeti National Park, and ends in a traditional lodge on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater. This great combination will bring you in close contact with Tanzania's incredibly diverse flora and fauna.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Lake Manyara National Park Departing from Arusha after lunch, you travel to Lake Manyara, a scenic gem with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as 'the loveliest I had seen in Africa' (approx 2hr). Spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for game viewing and bird spotting at this great lake. Meals : HB Accommodation : Kirurumu Tented Camp Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park After breakfast enjoy a game drive in the park, viewing the abundant wildlife. In the early afternoon you continue to Mto Wa Mbu village for a traditional village lunch and an insight into local culture. Here you will have the opportunity to visit a local market and interact with the local people. Meals : FB Accommodation : Kirurumu Tented Camp Days 3-5: Serengeti National Park After breakfast you go on a morning drive to the Serengeti, the jewel in the crown of Tanzania's protected areas. You will hopefully start seeing game well before you enter the reserve. Following a late lunch, the remainder of the day is spent viewing game. Meals : FB   Day 6: Olduvai Gorge & Ngorongoro Crater From the Serengeti you drive via Olduvai Gorge, the 'Cradle of Mankind', to the dramatic landscape of the Ngorongoro Crater, stopping for a picnic lunch en route (approx 5hr). Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the fantastic views down into the crater from the privacy of your bedroom. Meals : FB Accommodation : Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart by 4x4 to explore what is commonly known as the world's largest wildlife zoo. There is always an abundance of wildlife roaming the crater floor, because of the permanent water source within. You return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an afternoon visit to a Masai village. Meals : FB Accommodation : Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge Day 8 : Day of Departure After breakfast you depart for Arusha. On arrival you are transferred to the airport for your onward travel arrangements.
