Day 1: Nairobi On arrival into Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met and transferred to the House of Waine. This hotel has the appearance of an elegant country manor and is located close to the Giraffe Centre, Nairobi National Park, the Elephant Orphanage and arts & crafts centres. You can spend your first afternoon exploring the city at your leisure or relaxing alongside the hotel swimming pool. Meals : FB Days 2-3: Amboseli National Park Today you are collected and transferred to Wilson Airport for the an early flight to Amboseli. You will be collected from the airstrip and taken to Tortilis Camp, where you will be greeted by the over powering beauty of Africa’s largest mountain, Kilimanjaro. Although not a large national park, Amboseli offers you a good opportunity of seeing endangered black rhino, as well as a spectacular range of wildlife. Tortilis Camp conducts fascinating nature walks guided by the local Masai people who are happy to pass on their traditions and medicinal lore. Meals : FB Accommodation : Tortilis Camp Days 4-5: Meru National Park In the morning you are transferred in time for your 08h30 flight from Amboseli to Wilson. You then board a 09h30 scheduled flight to Nanyuki from where you take a private chartered flight at 10h00 to Meru National Park. You spend 2 nights at Elsa’s Kopje, where George and Joy Adamson brought up Elsa the Lioness and her 3 cubs. Meru is renowned for its low rainfall, yet at the same time 13 rivers and numerous streams run off the nearby mountains to provide an arid landscape laced with ribbons of green. Game viewing activities include game drives (day and night) in open 4x4 vehicles and walks accompanied by a knowledgeable naturalist. Between game viewing activities you can take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or admire the view from your cottage. Meals : FB Accommodation : Elsa's Kopje Days 8-10: Masai Mara National Game Reserve At 09h30 you catch the scheduled flight from Loisaba to the Masai Mara National Game Reserve. On arrival you are transferred to Saruni where you will spend the next 3 nights. This is one of the most spectacular and most popular game reserves in Kenya. The area is rich in game including the 'Big 5', and world-renowned for the annual mass migration of wildebeest and zebra. Saruni Safari Camp offers a very personalized experience inside its own conservation area as well as in the Mara Game Reserve. Meals : FB Accommodation : Saruni Safari Camp (Cottages) |
