A very comprehensive 2-week safari of East Africa.

The safari starts from Nairobi, goes straight to the Masai Mara and then to Lake Nakuru. Then it heads south to Amboseli and on into Tanzania visiting Lake Manyara, the Serengeti Plains and the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.

From Amboseli, the views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s snowy peaks are unforgettable. This interesting safari explores the ultimate big-game areas of the Masai heartlands in Kenya and Tanzania.

Kenya & Tanzania safari - herd of zebra

DAY 1: Nairobi


You will be met at Nairobi International Airport and transferred to the Safari Park Hotel. You will have the rest of the day at your leisure to spend touring the city or simply relaxing. Stay overnight at Safari Park Hotel on a bed & breakfast basis.

DAY 2: Masai Mara National Park (approx 5 hours' drive)


After breakfast you will depart for the Masai Mara and you will enjoy an afternoon game drive in search of the wildlife that makes the Masai Mara so famous. Staying overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge on a full board basis for 2 nights.

DAY 3: Masai Mara National Reserve


Spend another day in this renowned wildlife park and enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, returning to the Mara Sopa Lodge for lunch. If you are lucky enough to time your safari correctly you might catch the wildebeest and zebra in the annual migration.

DAY 4: Rift Valley Lakes (approx 4 hours' drive)


After breakfast you will drive to the Rift Valley Lakes where you will enjoy game viewing at Lake Nakuru, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle. After lunch, which is served at Lake Nakuru Lodge overlooking thousands of pink flamingoes lining the shores of the lake, you continue through the Nakuru Park to Lake Naivasha where you overnight.

DAY 5: Amboseli National Reserve (approx 6 hours' drive)


After breakfast you will drive to Nairobi where you stop to enjoy lunch before continuing to Amboseli. Amboseli is a small park that sits in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. Our safari spends 2 nights at Amboseli Sopa Lodge on a full board basis. Spend the day exploring Amboseli - of particular interest is the Amboseli forest and swamps, which attract elephants and other game.

DAY 6: Amboseli National Park


Have breakfast, board the game-viewing vehicle and let your guide take you through Amboseli. Your guide will tell you about the habits of the animals and will take you to ‘hot spots’ in the park. It is easier to spot game in Amboseli, as it is a lot smaller than other reserves.

DAY 7: Lake Manyara National Park (approx 6 hours' drive)


After an early breakfast you will cross the border into Tanzania. From here it is an easy drive to Arusha, where you will stop for lunch before carrying on across the Masai Steppe to the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara, where you will stay at Manyara Serena Lodge on a full board basis.

DAY 8: Serengeti (approx 4 hours' drive)


Enjoy an early morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, and, after lunch, depart for the Serengeti and enjoy an afternoon game drive on the way. Look forward to viewing wildlife in the open plains of the Serengeti while your guide takes you to some excellent viewing points. Stay overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge on a full board basis for 2 nights.

DAY 9: Serengeti


Today will be spent on morning and afternoon game activities in the Serengeti whilst returning to the lodge during the heat of the day for lunch and relaxation. Splash out in the pool at your lodge and cool off from the midday sun, before going to view more game in the afternoon.

DAY 10: Olduvai Gorge & Ngorongoro Crater (approx 3 hours' drive)


After enjoying your breakfast you will drive via Olduvai Gorge to Ngorongoro Crater, with a picnic lunch en route. Discover the archaeological history at Olduvai Gorge before driving to your accommodation at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

DAY 11: Ngorongoro Crater


This morning after breakfast you will enjoy a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, commonly referred to as the world's largest wildlife zoo. There is a permanent source of water in the crater which attracts a wide range of animals, making game viewing easy. You enjoy a picnic lunch en-route and an afternoon visit to a Masai village.

DAY 12: Tarangire National Park (approc 4.30 hours' drive)


After breakfast you drive to the Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for lunch and a siesta. The afternoon is spent on safari, before returning to the lodge for dinner.

DAY 13: Day of Departure (approx 7 hours' drive)


Depart Tarangire after breakfast and drive back to Arusha where you stop for lunch. After lunch you continue the journey by road to Nairobi. Dinner is served at the famous Carnivore restaurant before you are dropped off at Nairobi Airport for your onward travels.
