Ngorongoro & Lake Manyara safari - Ngorongoro Crater

Day 1: Ngorongoro Crater (Approx 4hr drive)

You leave Arusha in the afternoon and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater Conservancy. This is quite possibly the most famous of all Africa ’s conservation areas. Home to an abundance of wildlife, the crater is a favoured spot for wildlife due to the permanent water and grassland on the crater floor. You stand a very good chance of seeing the Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino & elephant) over the course of a morning or evening’s game drive. Spend the night at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, where you will enjoy dinner overlooking the Crater. The high altitude of the Ngorongoro Crater ensures that you get a restful night's sleep.

You will spend the night at the Lake Manyara Hotel, which overlooks the Lake itself. One of the most diverse of Tanzania's National Parks, Lake Manyara National Park is famous for its tree climbing lions as well as being a paradise for around 380 species of birds.
